Noncompliant arc-fault protection 2 Aug 2012
Noncompliant arc-fault protection The electrical contractor provided AFCI circuit breakers (with green test buttons). However, these breakers were not combination-type arc fault protectors and therefore non-compliant. The breaker at the bottom left (white test button is combination-type). The circuit breaker identifying labels should not cover the manufacturer's label. Also note there are no identifying labels or other markings on the two non-compliant AFCI breakers or on the two GFCI breakers (yellow test buttons). Counterfeit, unlisted circuit breakers have been known to infiltrate the US supply chain.
